The Kasparov Chess Foundation University Cup is announced

The Kasparov Chess Foundation has officially announced its University Cup, inviting top university players from around the world to participate. This event aims to promote the growth of chess in academic institutions and provide a competitive platform for emerging talents. The tournament will feature classical, rapid, and blitz formats over a period of five days, with participants demonstrating both strategic and tactical skills.

The foundation emphasizes education alongside competition, offering workshops and lectures from leading grandmasters, including sessions on opening theory, middlegame strategies, and endgame techniques. Teams from over 20 universities are expected to compete, with prizes including scholarships, trophies, and invitations to international tournaments.

Organizers highlight the importance of fair play and sportsmanship, ensuring an inclusive and educational environment. Participants will have opportunities to network with peers, share insights, and gain experience in high-level tournament play.
